Eurochocolate is one of the most important exhibitions in Perugia. They held it in 1994 for the first time and this event has improved with Turin and Rome editions. The exhibition is set along the main streets and squares of the city and lasts eight days. The historical center of Perugia changes its aspect with the chocolate exhibitions, the workshops, and the places dedicated to tasting. During the week, there are workshops open to every one, where craftsmen create chocolate sculptures. The sculptures are destroyed in the last days of the exhibition and chocolate pieces are distributed to everybody. The real protagonist is the chocolate and Euochocolate shows the history of the chocolate, since the discovery of cocoa, approximately 4000 years before Christ, by the Maias, until today. A large number of tourists comes to Perugia from Italy and other countries during Eurochocolate. |
